1815 cedar table

Australian Cedar Console Table C1810-1815.

Dimensions: 1610mm long x 790mm deep x 780mm high
Very early Australian Cedar Table from the Macquarie era.
The cross-banded, bow-fronted top one piece of Australian cedar,
over an shaped apron with simple applied moulding to the lower edge.
The front shaped cabriole legs with finely executed acanthus carving to the knee terminating in stylized Sphinx four toed feet.
The rear legs echoing the front leg shape without embellishments.
Finish is revived original. Condition is excellent.
An extremely rare early 19th Century Australian treasure.
